Momuments honoring the Americans in the Salm Valley!

LOCATION OF THE MONUMENTS

HONORING OUR LIBERATORS IN THE SALM VALLEY.

1. Trois-Ponts: bronze plaque to C company of the 51st Engineer 

    Combat Bn, fixed on the bridge on the Ambleve River.

2. Trois-Ponts: monument to the 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne Division,

    opposite the church.

                            monument to the 80th AAA Bn, 82nd Airborne Div.             

 3. Fosse: monument to the I Co, 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne Division.

3b. Saint Jacques: monument to the 505th PIR and 517th PRCT next to 

    the church.

4. Dairomont: monument to the Company A, 551st PIB.     

5. Rochelinval: Monument to the 551st PIB consisting in a stone with a

    bronze plaque honoring the 551st PIB, another one remember the

    Presidential Citation awarded to the battalion in 2001, a bronze

    plaque honoring Sgt Robert H Hill who was awarded the

    Distinguished Service Cross and a plaque offered by the 551st to

    the citizens of Rochelinval. 

6. Rochelinval: plaque to the Co I, 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne Division.

    Rochelinval: plaque honoring William H TUCKER, Co I, 505th PIR,

    82nd Airborne Division 

7. Spineux: monument to the 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry

    Division and to the 424th Infantry Regiment, 106th Division.

8. Wanne: stele erected by the 517th PRCT in honor of the Belgian

    people

9. Grand-Halleux: monument to the 291st Infantry regiment, 75th

    Infantry Division. Inside the church, a plaque also honor the 291st.

10. Above the main door the catholic school, a bronze plaque was

      unveiled to remember the 291st IR 

11. Ennal: monument to the 424th Infantry Regiment, 106th Inf. Div.

12. Logbiermé: monument to the 517th P.R.C.T.

13. Arbrefontaine: monument to the 505th PIR

14. Thier-du-Mont Hill: monument to the 508th PIR

15. Vielsalm: monument to the 7th Armored Division (Square Bruce

      Clark).

16. Vielsalm:  Sherman tank, gift of the 7th Armored Division to the

      town of Vielsalm.

17. Burtonville: monument to the 290th Infantry Regiment, 75th Infantry Division.
